Description

The clever design of this pelican hook features an “over center” gate. There’s no load on the swinging hook when closed. This allows easy opening yet stays secure with the heavy, welded split ring on the plunger.
Hand Crimp fittings allow one to install lifelines with Johnson hand-crimp tool #53-210. This means fabrication may be done directly on the boat, saving time and eliminating measurement error. Hand Crimp fittings, when installed properly, bring safety and satisfaction to the experienced do-it-yourselfer.
Note: A properly installed hand-crimp fitting will hold 65-70% of the breaking strength of 7×7 cable. While this has proven adequate for lifelines, do not use these fittings for standing rigging or other high-load applications.
