One of the preferred materials for sacrificial anodes used to preserve carbon steel is ANODE KIT YAMAHA 40-60 (TENKITYAMAHA40-6). Because less carbon is left behind compared to zinc anodes, an oxide layer is formed that passivates the anodes. Aluminum anodes have a relatively high driving voltage. It means that it provides better current dispersion as compared to zinc. It does a fantastic job of protecting less active zinc and does not experience as high a corrosion rate as magnesium.
