Description

The Sparkplug is a device that fits into the cylinder head of an internal combustion engine. It includes two electrodes separated by an air gap across which current from a high-tension ignition system discharges to form a spark to ignite the air-fuel mixture. Electrical energy is transmitted through the spark plug, jumping the gap in the plug’s firing end, if the voltage supplied to the plugs is high enough. This electrical spark ignites the gasoline/air mixture in the combustion chamber.The plug connects to the high voltage generated by an ignition coil or magneto.
